Giant Bicycles in Kenya: Prices, Models & Where to Buy

Giant is the world’s largest bicycle manufacturer, and for good reason: they build the frames that plenty of other brands paint their names on. If you’re shopping for a Giant in Kenya, you want three things straight — genuine stock, honest pricing in shillings, and a dealer who will still pick up the phone six months after you ride out. Cycle Africa Bikes is one of the few dedicated Giant dealers in Nairobi, and this page is the plain-English guide to what we carry, what it costs, and how to get on one this month.

Why Giant is the sensible choice for Kenyan riders

Giant’s ALUXX aluminium frames and Advanced-grade carbon layups are used across their entire range, from the KES 65,000 commuter to the KES 450,000 race machine. That means a Giant Escape you buy for daily riding on Thika Road shares the same frame engineering language as a Giant TCR ridden in the Tour de France. For a Kenyan buyer, this matters because our roads punish weak welds, our humidity punishes bad paint, and our potholes punish soft wheels. Giant’s quality control is why we anchor our showroom around the brand.

Alongside Giant, we stock SAVA, CAMP, Cruztrek, NOOYAH and TWITTER — each chosen because it solves a specific price-to-performance problem. A first-time buyer on a KES 50,000 budget is better served by a Cruztrek than a stretched-thin Giant. A carbon-curious rider under KES 200,000 might find a TWITTER or SAVA fits better than an entry Giant Contend. We’ll tell you which is which; we don’t push you up the ladder if you don’t need it.

Giant models we currently stock and their Kenya prices

Prices below reflect landed stock at our Dar es Salaam Road flagship. They include VAT, pre-delivery inspection, and free assembly on purchase.

  • Giant Escape 3 (city/commuter, 700c) — KES 78,000. The default answer for anyone commuting Westlands to CBD or riding Karura on weekends. Rigid, fast, easy to service.
  • Giant ATX 27.5 (hardtail MTB) — KES 92,000. Suspension fork, mechanical disc brakes, tough enough for Kereita and Ngong forest trails.
  • Giant Talon 3 29er (hardtail MTB) — KES 135,000. The bike we sell most to serious weekend riders. Air fork option, hydraulic disc, 1x drivetrain.
  • Giant Contend 3 (aluminium road) — KES 168,000. Endurance geometry, Shimano Claris, the honest entry into road cycling in Kenya.
  • Giant TCR Advanced 2 (carbon road) — KES 445,000. Race-ready carbon, Shimano 105 Di2 electronic shifting. Our top seller among the Runda peloton crowd.

Stock rotates. If a model above is between shipments, we will tell you the exact ETA rather than sell you something else. Sizes S through XL are held for popular SKUs; XS and XXL are usually pre-order with a 3-4 week window.

How to choose between Giant road, mountain and hybrid

Road bikes (Contend, TCR, Defy) suit tarmac riders doing 30km+ loops — Ngong Road to Kiserian, Kiambu Road, Limuru descents, the Sunday Kikuyu bunch. Mountain bikes (ATX, Talon, Fathom) are for anyone who will touch dirt: Karura, Oloolua, Kereita, the Aberdares. Hybrids (Escape, Roam) are the correct answer for pure commuting and mixed-surface riding where you’re not chasing Strava segments.

A common mistake we see is buyers over-buying travel — putting a 140mm-fork enduro bike under a rider who only does Karura. You pay more, pedal heavier, and don’t use the capability. The reverse mistake is under-buying for weight; if you’re above 95kg, we’ll steer you away from lightweight race wheels toward something that will last. For frame-size guidance by rider height, Giant’s sizing guide is a useful pre-visit read.

Lipa pole pole: pay in bits, at your own pace

We don’t work with lenders and we don’t do credit. What we do offer is lipa pole pole — you put money towards the bike you want in whatever amounts suit you, whenever you can manage it, and we keep a record of every shilling. When the bike is fully paid, you collect it.

There’s no interest, no forms, no credit check and no third party involved. Tell us the model and we’ll confirm the price, then pay it down bit by bit at your own pace. Simple as that.

Free assembly on every bike we sell

Every bike is assembled, tuned and the saddle set to your height before you ride out — free with your purchase. Wheels trued, brakes bedded in, gears indexed, bolts torqued to spec, all done by our own mechanics on Dar es Salaam Road.

Same-day delivery, countrywide

If you’re in Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, Nakuru, Nyeri, Kakamega, Meru or anywhere the courier network reaches, you don’t need to travel to Nairobi to buy from us. We ship boxed and pre-tuned, with same-day delivery countrywide. Delivery is charged separately — it isn’t free — and we’ll quote you the exact freight cost before dispatch. Pay on delivery is available in Nairobi only; for upcountry orders we ask for a KES 2,000 deposit before dispatch, with the balance settled on arrival. Assembly instructions are included, or we’ll pair you with a trusted mechanic in your town for final assembly.

Warranty, service and parts

Every bike we sell carries a 6-month warranty, and we service what we sell. We hold consumables in stock: brake pads, chains, cassettes, tubes, Giant-spec tyres. Every bike gets a service booklet, and if something breaks that shouldn’t have inside the warranty window, bring it in and our workshop sorts it out.

For imported parts not in stock, lead time is typically 2-3 weeks. We do not fit counterfeit Shimano or SRAM — a problem we see across the Kenyan market. If you need a reference on identifying genuine components, the Shimano anti-counterfeit page is worth bookmarking.

Why buyers choose Cycle Africa Bikes

We hold a 4.8-star Google rating from more than 340 reviews. That reputation is built on the boring stuff: honest stock lists, prices that don’t change when you walk in, mechanics who take the time to explain what they’ve done, and a willingness to say “that’s not the right bike for you” when it isn’t. We carry the depth to match a rider to the right frame — whether that’s a KES 78,000 Escape or a KES 445,000 TCR Advanced.

For broader cycling context in Kenya, including club rides and events you might want to build your fitness toward, the Kenya Cycling Federation maintains a calendar worth checking.

Frequently asked questions

Are your Giant bicycles genuine and where are they sourced?

Yes. We source directly through Giant’s authorised distribution channels. Every bike carries its Giant serial number and matching frame documentation. We’re happy to verify the serial with you at point of sale.

What’s the cheapest Giant you sell in Kenya?

The Giant Escape 3 at KES 78,000 is our entry Giant. Below that price point we recommend Cruztrek or NOOYAH, which offer better value than any sub-KES 70,000 Giant would.

Can I pay for a bike bit by bit?

Yes — that’s our lipa pole pole arrangement. Pay towards the bike in any amounts, at your own pace, and collect it once it’s fully paid. There’s no lender, no interest and no paperwork.

Do you deliver to Mombasa or Kisumu?

Yes — we do same-day delivery countrywide, boxed and pre-tuned. Freight is charged separately and we quote you the exact cost before dispatch.

What does the warranty cover?

Bikes come with a 6-month warranty, and we service what we sell. If a fault shows up in that window, bring the bike back to Dar es Salaam Road and our own mechanics handle it. Normal wear items such as tubes, pads and chains aren’t covered, but we stock them all.
